Jack Port (Lycoming College ’14) joined the Dickinson coaching staff in the fall of 2018 as an assistant with the men and women’s swimming programs. Port brings a strong background in both swimming and education.
Port is a seasoned coach who has worked at every level of the sport. From 2015 to 2018, Port served as the Head Coach of Boys and Girls Swimming and Diving at Holy Redeemer High School in Wilkes-Barre, PA, where he produced the first PIAA state champion in school history. In addition, Port mentored 10 All-State swimmers and five NISCA Academic All-Americans while his teams combined to break 14 school records and three District III records. Port is a member of the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association and the Pennsylvania High School Swim Coaches Association.
Prior to his time at Holy Redeemer, Port served as an assistant coach at Misericordia University, where he acquired expertise in USRPT. He has also coached age-group swimmers at the storied University of Michigan Swim Camp in Ann Arbor, the Wilkes-Barre YMCA, and most recently, at the local Mechanicsburg Swim Club. When he is off the pool deck, Port is a social studies teacher at Susquehanna Township High School.
Port is a 2014 graduate of Lycoming College, where he earned a B.A. in history. He went on to receive a master’s degree in Instructional Technology from Misericordia in 2017. While at Lycoming, he was a four-year member of the swim team, serving as a team captain during his junior and senior seasons. He received the Mort Rauff Award for Excellence and was named to the Middle Atlantic Conference Academic Honor Roll.
