(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team remained unbeaten and on top of the Centennial Conference standings, posting a 2-0 win over visiting McDaniel College on Wednesday afternoon. With a Johns Hopkins loss to Gettysburg as well, the Red Devils will be the top seed for the conference playoffs, hosting the final four at Miller Memorial Field.
The Red Devils put a pair of goals on the board, scoring twice in a span of six minutes. Junior Kyra Thomas (Watertown, Conn./The Taft School) struck first, finishing a double assist from Meg Tate (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) and Addy Zandi (West Chester, Pa./B. Reed Henderson) in the 21st minute.
Six minutes later Tate would find the back of the net, scoring off an assist from sophomore Charlotte Glancey (Princeton, N.J./Montgomery) 18:30 remaining in the first half.
The Green Terror kept the hosts off the scoreboard in the second half but were unable to cut into the deficit.
The Red Devils held the edge in shots, 14-8 and had a 9-2 advantage in corners.
Sophomore Carli Boyer (Silver Spring, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) recorded seven saves to post her ninth shutout of the season. That ties her for second on a program single season list, match Mary Katherine Brosnan's '19 mark from last season.
The Red Devils improve to 12-1-4 overall and 7-0-2 in the Centennial Conference. They travel to Gettysburg College for the regular season finale on Saturday night. Opening kick-off is set for 7:00 pm.
