Red Devils Fall in PA Cup Opener at UPenn

(Philadelphia, Pa.) – The Red Devil women's squash team had a tough start at the PA Cup in the season opener at the University of Pennsylvania, falling 9-0 on Saturday.

Courtney Trail (Palmerston North, N.Z./Palmerston North Girls School) dropped an (11-7, 11-5, 11-7) decision in the top flight while Lindsay Kuracina (Thornhill, Ontario, Canada/Lake Forest) suffered an (11-8, 11-4, 11-8) setback in the second position.

The men's team had a similar start to the season, falling 9-0 as well.

Sophomore Ben Gemma (Barrington, R.I./Moses Brown) and junior Adil Tibrawalla (Kolkata, India/La Martiniere School) had a pair of strong performances. Gemma went 4-11, 7-11, 4-11) while Tibrawalla battled in the ninth (7-11, 9-11, 8-11).

Both teams will return to UPenn on Sunday to face Franklin & Marshall in the consolation round of the PA Cup.
