(Philadelphia, Pa.) – The #20-ranked Dickinson women's squash team suffered a heartbreaking 5-4 setback to #19-ranked Franklin & Marshall in the consolation match of the PA Cup on Sunday afternoon.
Sophomores Courtney Trail (Palmerston North, N.Z./Palmerston North Girls School) and Lindsay Kuracina (Thornhill, Ontario, Canada/Lake Forest) won the top two flights (11-5, 11-9, 12-10) and (12-10, 11-4, 11-3), respectively.
Jaime Leigh Edghill (Diego Martin, Trinidad & Tribago/Holy Name) had a strong start and then overcame a 2-1 deficit to win the fifth flight (11-4, 8-11, 4-11, 11-9, 11-7) and first-year Doxey Loupassi (Richmond, Va./St. Catherine's) rallied from an 0-2 start to win an epic match in the sixth (6-11, 5-11, 14-12, 12-10, 11-7).
First-year Katelynn Young (Philadelphia, Pa./Friends Select School) battled in a 3-2 setback in the ninth, falling (3-11, 11-5, 11-8, 9-11, 11-5).
The Red Devils move to 0-2 on the season. They travel to Yale University next Saturday to face Williams College at 3:00 pm.
