(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's swim team turned in a strong performance on Saturday, picking up a pair of wins over visiting Wilkes University and Lebanon Valley College. The Red Devils turned back Wilkes 112-69 and defeated the Dutchwomen 118-76.
Senior Molly Sternick (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) was a triple-winner, touching the wall first in the 50-freestyle and the 100-butterfly, adding another win with the 200-medley relay.
First-year Sarah Caron (Chestertown, Md./St. Andrew's) won two events, leading-off the medley relay and wining the 100-backstroke. She had a strong showing in exhibition with the 200-free relay. Classmate Caroline Wasielevski (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) anchored the medley relay, won the 100-freestyle and placed second in the 50-freestyle.
First-year Caroline Christianson (Onley, Md./Sherwood) captured the 1000-yard freestyle and showed well as an anchor leg in the 200-free relay. Hadley Starr (New Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield) was third in the 1000.
Senior Demetria Ruhl (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends) posted a win in the 200 individual medley and had strong exhibition swims in the 500 and the 200-free relay.
Sophomore Maddi Vlattas (Herndon, Va./Westfield) earned a silver and bronze in the 200 and 100-freestyle events while Madeline Callahan (Westtown, N.Y./Minisink Valley) and Kelly Hester (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) earned second with the medley relay and placed third in the 200-freestyle and 200 individual medley, respectively.
Brooke Kelly (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) anchored second place medley relay and touched the wall second in the 100-freestyle.
The Red Devils are home on Friday night, hosting Bryn Mawr College before heading to the University of Scranton on Saturday.
