(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's indoor track & field team missed out on one meet and gained another as they returned to action on Saturday, hosting Messiah College in a last-minute dual-meet at the Kline Center. The Red Devils were unable to travel to Susquehanna due to the statewide travel ban.
Senior Naji Thompson (Springfield, N.J./Oak Knoll) had a great day, winning the 55-meters with a time of 7.58 and placing second in the 200 with a mark of 28.18.
Sophomore Emma Johnston (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham) crossed the line first in the mile, posting a time of 5:21.18. She added a third-place finish in the 800 with a time of 2:36.10.
First-year Alexandra Colby (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) clocked a time of 9.14 in the 55-meter hurdles for second place. Classmate Lana Ljoka (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield) led the way in the field events, winning the triple jump with a distance of 9.12 meters and placed second in the long jump, clearing 4.52 meters.
Sophomore Jenny Beck (Tamaqua, Pa./Tamaqua Area) claimed bronze in the shot put with a throw of 9.69 meters.
The Red Devils placed first in the 4x200 relay and finished third in the 4x400.
The Red Devils return to competition next Friday, traveling to the Franklin & Marshall Invitational.
