Women's XC Claims Light Up The Night Invite

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's cross country team had a great start to the 2019 season, winning the seven team Light up the Night Invitational on Friday night at Dickinson Park.

The Red Devils captured the top three spots, led by senior Sarah House (Merrimack, N.H./Merrimack) with a winning time of 17:52 on the 5K course.

Junior Isabel Cardi (Media, Pa./Strath Haven) and Emma Johnston (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) crossed the line second and third with marks of 18:01 and 18:51, respectively.

Senior Tessa Cassidy (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) was fourth in a time of 19:10 while Isabella Fife (Lancaster, Pa./JP McCaskey) just missed the top 10, finishing 11th, just in front of Lilianna Matala (Schenectady, N.Y./Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons) in 12th.

The Red Devils combined for 22 points with Messiah College claiming second with 52 to better third-place Elizabethtown with 62.

The Red Devils return to action on September 13, traveling to the Little Three Championships at Franklin & Marshall.
