| (Carlisle, Pa.) - The Dickinson
College women's basketball team opened the season with a 56-46 win
over Stevenson University in the first round of the Days Inn
Tip-off Tournament. The Red Devils advance to the final to face
Moravian College at 4:00 pm on Sunday. |
Moravian advanced to the final with an 83-65 decision in the
other semifinal.
Senior Brooke Muller (Northampton,
Pa./Whitehall) led the Devils with 12 points and a
tournament record eight steals to go with three assists.
Junior Carole Dempsey (Potomac, Md./Winston
Churchill)added 10 points, seven rebounds and three steals
while first-yearDana Walsh (Malvern, Pa./Great
Valley) scored 10 points and controlled a team-high
eight rebounds.
Junior Alesha Sisco (Effort, Pa./Blair
Academy) played outstanding on the defensive end,
recording five steals, six points and six rebounds.
First-year Lindsay Finnerty (Tenafly,
N.J./Tenafly) went 4-for-4 from the foul line, adding
eight points.
JaQuelia Conley led Stevenson with 11 points and four
rebounds.
The Red Devils open the season 1-0. They will face Moravian at
4:00 pm in the championship. Stevenson (1-1) will take on St.
Vincent at 2:00 pm.
