(Carlisle, Pa.) - The Dickinson
College women's basketball team suffered its second loss of the
season, falling to visiting McDaniel College, 70-55, on Thursday
night. |
The Red Devils struggled from the field in the first half,
shooting just 29 percent. McDaniel hit 50 percent of its shots in
the first half to take a 36-24 lead at halftime.
The Devils took an early 6-2 lead before McDaniel went on a 14-2
run to pull in front by eight with 14:22 remaining in the half. The
Terror opened the second half with an 11-2 run for their biggest
lead of the night at 51-26. The Red Devils battled back to within
14 points, but could get no closer down the stretch.
Alesha Sisco (Effort, Pa./Blair
Academy) turned in a strong performance with a
game-high 18 points and eight rebounds, shooting 4-of-6 from the
line.
Sophomore Taylor Miller (Red Lion, Pa./Red
Lion) tallied eight points and two assists while
first-year Dana Walsh (Malvern, Pa./Great
Valley) came off the bench to add seven points.
JuniorCarole Dempsey (Potomac, Md./Winston
Churchill) scored six points and made three steals
and Bridget Borgese (Swarthmore, Pa./Notre Dame de
Namur) recorded a game-high four steals and
controlled three rebounds.
Cara Thompson (Hagerstown, Md/North Hagerstown) led McDaniel
(1-4, 1-2) with 17 points, five rebounds and four assists while
Whitney Snoops (Millersville, Md./Archbishop Spaulding) scored
eight points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.
The Red Devils slip to 3-2 overall and 1-2 in the Centennial
Conference. They are home again on Saturday at 2:00 pm.
