(Westminster, Md.) - The
Dickinson College women's basketball team suffered a 74-63 loss at
Centennial Conference leader, McDaniel, on Wednesday night. The
Green Terror claimed the two-game series as they improved to 14-2
in the CC and 16-4 overall. The Devils slip to 13-7 and 9-7 in
conference play. |
McDaniel jumped out to a 10-1 lead and stretched the margin to
25-9 with 9:32 remaining in the first half. The Green Terror held
the lead throughout the half, holding a 39-25 advantage at the
break.
The teams played even in the second half with Dickinson
outscoring the hosts 38-35 over the final 20 minutes.
The Devils made a run at the end, cutting the deficit to just
seven, 63-56, with 3:46 remaining in the game. The Green Terror
held on to remain in the top spot in the team standings.
Junior Alesha Sisco (Effort, Pa./Blair
Academy) turned in a strong performance with a
game-high 24 points. She hit 9-of-13 shots from the floor and was
perfect from the line at 6-for-6. She added six rebounds, a pair of
assists and two steals on the night.
Senior guard Brooke Muller (Northampton,
Pa./Whitehall) tallied 19 points while handing out
five assists to go with a pair of steals.Carole Dempsey
(Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) chipped in with
eight points.
Ali Moreland (Davidsonville, Md./South River) led McDaniel with
20 points, six rebounds and three assists. Cara Thompson
(Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) tallied eight points, 12
rebounds and five assists.
The Red Devils return home to host Bryn Mawr College on Saturday
afternoon at 2:00 pm. Saturday is the WBCA Pink Zone
