(Grantham, Pa.) –The Dickinson College men's swim team improved to 7-0 on the season with a 123-74 win at Messiah on Tuesday night.
Senior Jack Shine (Paoli, Pa./Haverford School) captured the 1000 freestyle in a time of 10:41.64 and touched the wall second in the 500 (5:13.23). Sophomore Brandon Gauthier (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) posted wins in the 200 individual medley (2:03.77) and the 500 freestyle (5:10.14).
Sophomore Jason Adams (Kingston, Jamaica/Kent School, Conn.) won the 50 freestyle (22.04) and the 100 butterfly (53.37) while first-year Chris Miles (Hartford, Conn./Kingswood Oxford) claimed the 200 freestyle (1:52.20) and placed second in the in the 100 free (51.15). Ed Barnard (Springfield, Pa./Haveford School) was second in the 50 free with a time of 22.68.
First-year Micah Smith (Clemmons, N.C./West Forsyth) swam the lead leg of the winning 200 medley relay (1:45.42) and added an individual win in the 100 backstroke with a time of 56.18. Classmate Cameron Phillips (Woburn, N.J./Phillips Andover) joined the medley relay and placed third in the 100 butterfly (56.76).
Andrew Shine (Paoli, Pa./Haverford School) and Andrew Barrett (Bellevue, Wash./Bellevue) rounded out the medley relay.
Junior Zach Yocum (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) posted a pair of second place finishes in the 200 individual medley (2:05.61) and the 100 backstroke (57.66). Cris Miranda (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) swam to second in the 100 butterfly (55.78) and third in the 200 freestyle.
Senior Michael Benson (New Milford, Conn./New Milford) added a third and fourth in the 500 and 200 freestyle events with times of 5:15.15 and 1:56.39, respectively. Classmate Tristan White (Auburn, N.Y./Hotchkiss School) placed third in the 1000 (10:59.92) and Taylor Bye (Cummington, Mass./Berkshire Country Day) was third in the 100 freestyle (52.69).
The Red Devils improve to 7-0 on the season. They return to action in January.
