(Westminster, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's and women's swim teams both posted Centennial Conference wins on Saturday, sweeping host McDaniel College. The Red Devil men outscored the Green Terror, 66-29, while the women earned the victory by a score of 55-40.
Junior Jason Adams (Kingston, Jamaica/Kent School, Conn.) led the way on the men's side with a triple-win afternoon. Adams claimed the 50 and 100 yard freestyle events with times of 21.50 and 48.85, and anchored the winning 200 free relay as the Devils clocked a time of 1:31.89.
Senior Ed Barnard (Springfield, Pa./Haverford School) placed third in the 50 freestyle and added a win with the 200 medley relay (1:42.13). Chris Miles (Hartford, Conn./Kingswood Oxford) swam the lead leg of the medley relay and captured the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 56.65. He placed second in the 1000 freestyle, posting a time of 10:31.93.
First-year Theo Hubbard (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) had a strong meet, winning the 200 freestyle (1:50.47) and the 100 butterfly (53.54). He added a second place finish in the 500 freestyle, clocking a time of 5:00.96.
Junior Andrew Barrett (Bellevue, Wash./Bellevue) won the 100 breaststroke (1:10.17) and placed second in the 100 backstroke (58.79) and with the 200 free relay, swimming the lead leg (1:38.04). Sophomore Cameron Phillips (Woburn, Mass./Phillips Academy Andover) went 1-2 in the medley and free relays, respectively, and added an individual third place finish in the 100 butterfly (56.69).
Senior Kevin Chibbaro (North Brunswick, N.J./North Brunswick Twp.) swam the lead leg of the winning free relay and placed third in the 100 freestyle with a time of 51.04. Classmate Zach Yocum (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) anchored the winning medley relay, and finished second in both the 200 individual medley (2:08.21) and the 100 breaststroke (1:03.60).
The Red Devil men improve to 7-1 overall and 2-0 in the Centennial Conference. They return home to face Washington College next Saturday at 2:00pm.
