(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's swim team turned in a strong performance against nationally-ranked Division II Bloomsburg University on Saturday afternoon. The Huskies posted their first win of the season, 121-79.
Sophomore Caitlin Klockner (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough Regional) swam the second leg of the winning 200 free relay (1:43.01). She added second place showings in the 100 and 200 yard freestyle events, posting times of 54.96 and 2:01.81.
Senior Carson Gannon (Morristown, N.J./Morristown Beard) had a 1-2-3 afternoon. She joined the winning free relay and placed second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:22.43. Gannon swam to third in the 1650 yard freestyle event, clocking a time of 18:26.14.
First-year Emily Houser (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) swam the lead leg of the free relay. She placed second in the 100 backstroke (1:01.89) and added a third place showing with the 200 medley relay (1:57.14).
Junior Caroline Brennan (Madison, N.J./Madison) edged out Gannon for second in the 1650 freestyle, touching the wall in 18:24.18. She was ten hundredths of a second behind Gannon in the 500, placing third with a time of 5:22.53.
Lindsey Morton (Orange, Conn./Amity Regional) and Clara Russell (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) swam the middle legs of the medley relay and added second place finishes in the 100 butterfly (1:01.55) and the 100 breaststroke (1:16.82), respectively.
Senior Kayla Haskins (Mars, Pa./Pine Richland) won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:16.00 while first-year Tanita Leary (Larchmont, N.Y./Mamaroneck) anchored the medley relay and placed third in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:01.64.
The Red Devils slip to 5-2 on the season. They travel to the Gettysburg Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
