(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's swim team jumped out to an early lead and turned in some solid performances en route to a 105-72 win over visiting Bryn Mawr College on Friday night.
The Red Devils opened with a 1-2 finish in the 400 medley relay. First-year Emily Houser (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) swam the lead leg of the winning quartet, clocking a time of 4:18.07. She led-off the 400 free relay, swimming exhibition to a time of 3:51.60. She added a second place finish in the 100 butterfly as well, posting a time of 1:02.62.
Sophomore Katie Nirenberg (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) swept the 50 and 100 yard freestyle events, with times of 26.60 and 57.80, respectively. Classmate Clara Russell (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) added a pair of wins, joining the medley relay and touching the wall first in the 200 individual medley, with a time of 2:22.07.
Senior Carson Gannon (Morristown, N.J./Morristown Beard) had a solid meet as well, winning the 500 freestyle (5:33.32) and anchoring the winning medley relay. She finished second in the 100 backstroke, posting a time of 1:05.71.
Senior Rachel Williams (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) won the 100 butterfly in 1:02.48 and placed third in the 50 free with a time of 27.13. Classmate Gillie Grattan (Richmond, Va./Trinity Episcopal) anchored the free relay and added a pair of second place showings in 200 individual medley (2:25.76) and the 500 freestyle (5:48.02).
The Red Devils placed one-two in six events on the night. Caitlin Klockner (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough Regional) and Tanita Leary (Larchmont, N.Y./Mamaroneck) placed first and second in the 200 freestyle, clocking times of 2:01.87 and 2:05.73, respectively.
First-year Lindsay Morton (Orange, Conn./Amity Regional) placed second behind Nirenberg in the 100 freestyle with a time of 58.48 while junior Caroline Brennan (Madison, N.J./Madison) swam the third leg of the winning medley relay.
The Red Devils improve 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the Centennial Conference. They return to action tomorrow afternoon, joining the men's team to travel to York College for a tri-meet with the Spartans and St. Mary's College of Maryland.
