(Grantham, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's and women's swim teams both posted wins at Messiah College on Tuesday night. The Red Devil women held off the Falcons, 107-98, while the men outscored the hosts, 124-78.
Sophomore Caitlin Klockner (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough Regional) touched the wall first in the 100 and 200 yard freestyle events, clocking times of 55.75 and 2:00.49, respectively.
Junior Caroline Brennan (Madison, N.J./Madison) won the distance events, clocking top times of 5:25.30 and 10:59.95 in the 500 and 1000 yard freestyles. She placed second with 200 free relay (1:48.85).
First-year Emily Houser (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) won the 100 backstroke in 1:03.03, and placed second in the 50 freestyle (25.61) and with the 200 medley relay, swimming the lead leg (1:56.47).
First-year Jacqulyn Teller (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) touched the wall first in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:18.88. She placed second in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.02) and with the 200 medley relay. Classmate Tanita Leary (Larchmont, N.Y./Mamaroneck) added a pair of second place finishes in the 200 freestyle (2:03.51) and as the lead leg of the 200 free relay . She also placed fourth in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:04.15.
Senior Rachel Williams (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) also joined the second place medley relay, and swam to second in the 100 yard butterfly (1:02.80).
Sophomore Katie Nirenberg (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) anchored the 200 medley relay to a second place finish, and placed third in the 100 backstroke (1:06.84).
The Red Devils (6-2) next compete at the Bob Mowerson Invitational in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, on January 7th.
