(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's swim team jumped out to a strong start en route to a 118-87 win over visiting Messiah College on Wednesday night.
The Red Devils captured first and second in the opening event, scoring 15 points in the 200 medley relay. Senior Chris Miles (Hartford, Conn./Kingswood Oxford) led-off the winning relay and later captured the 100 backstroke. He also placed second in the 200 freestyle as well.
Sophomore Alex Bennett (Baltimore, Md./Loyola Blakefield) was a triple-winner on the night. He anchored the winning medley relay, and added wins in the 200 and 500 yard freestyle events. Classmate Sam Eaton (Port Matilda, Pa./State College) earned a pair of wins with the medley relay and the 100 yard breaststroke.
Senior Cameron Phillips (Woburn, Mass./Phillips Academy Andover) joined the medley relay and had second place showings in the 1000 freestyle and 100 butterfly events.
First-year Mitchell Reynolds (Frederick, Md./Frederick) won the 1000 freestyle and placed second in the 500. He anchored the second place 200 free relay. Junior Alex Karickhoff (Willoughby, Ohio/Hawken School) joined the free relay, and was also second in the 50 and 100 freestyles.
First-years Nick Beard (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) and Jake Beley (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) swam the middle legs of second place medley relay and went two-three in the individual medley with Beard adding another second in the 100 breaststroke.
Travis Lipscomb (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Heights) posted third place finishes in the 50 and 100 freestyle events, and was second with the free relay. Classmate Sasha Jouravlev (Sparta, N.J./Sparta) added seconds in both relay events.
The Red Devils improve to 4-3 overall. They travel to Gettysburg on Friday and Saturday for the Gettysburg Invitational.
