(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's basketball team played well against visiting McDaniel College on Wednesday night but suffered a 67-55 setback at the Kline Center.

The Green Terror struck first but the Red Devils answered and held the lead until the 8:09 mark. A Jennifer Smith (Short Hills, N.J./Millburn) lay-up gave Dickinson a 10-5 advantage with 14 minutes to play.

McDaniel tied the game with a 9-4 run and pulled in front, 18-15, with 4:40 remaining in the half. The lead went back-and-forth over the final minutes with the Green Terror taking a 26-24 edge at the break.

McDaniel built the lead to nine, early in the second half, but Dickinson rallied, pulling within four on a Sam Kennedy (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) three-pointer, with 13:45 remaining. The Terror countered to take a double-digit lead at the midpoint of the second half.

They pulled in front by as many as 13, but the Red Devils would not go away. Dickinson battled, cutting the deficit to seven in the final minute. McDaniel hit 5-of-6 free throws in the final 30 seconds to secure the win.

Codi McMaster led McDaniel (16-5, 11-4) with a game-high 17 points and five rebounds, hitting 7-of-9 free throws.

Junior Liz Schultz (Dunmore, Pa./Scranton Prep) led the Red Devils 13 points and seven rebounds. First-year Mary Martin (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale) reached double-figures with 12 points, adding six rebounds. Erica Buls (New Market, Md./Oakdale) tallied nine points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots.

The Red Devils slip to 4-17 overall and 1-15 in the Centennial Conference. They travel to Bryn Mawr College in Saturday for a 2:00 pm tip-off.
