(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's swim team celebrated senior day with a 153-52 win over visiting Swarthmore College on Saturday. The Red Devils captured the top three spots in both the 1000 and 500 yard freestyle events, and went 1-2 in five others.
Senior Brandon Gauthier (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) was a triple-winner on the day. He anchored the winning 400 medley relay (3:35.28), and posted individual wins in the 200 individual medley (2:00.84) and the 200 breaststroke (2:14.48).
Classmate Jason Adams (Kingston, Jamaica/Kent School, Conn.) claimed three events as well. He swam the lead leg of the winning medley relay, and touched the wall first in the 50 and 100 freestyle events, posting times of 21.12 and 47.78, respectively. Micah Smith (Clemmons, N.C./West Forsyth) was second in the 50 free with a time of 22.46.
First-year Alex Bennett (Baltimore, Md./Loyola Blakefield) won both the 1000 and the 500 freestyle, clocking times of 10:06.51 and 5:01.09. He added his third win of the afternoon as the anchor of the 400 free relay (3:17.82). Classmate Joe Caucino (Sea Girt, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) was second behind Bennett in the 1000 (10:30.72) and the 500 (5:06.79).
Senior Michael Mason (Richmond, Va./Collegiate School) touched the wall third in the 500 and 1000, clocking times of 5:09.22 and 10:36.25.
Chris Miles (Hartford, Conn./Kingswood Oxford) had a triple-win afternoon as well. He swam the lead leg of the free relay, and added wins in the 200 freestyle (1:46.94) and the 200 backstroke (1:58.64). Cameron Phillips (Woburn, Mass./Phillips Academy Andover) joined the winning medley relay and won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:01.44.
Sophomore Alan Karickhoff (Willoughby, Ohio/Hawken School) swam the third leg of the free relay and placed second in the 100 and 200 freestyles, clocking times of 49.77 and 1:49.92. First-year Travis Lipscomb (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Heights) joined the free relay and the second place medley relay. He also finished second behind Gauthier in the individual medley with a time of 2:02.76.
Sasha Jouravlev (Sparta, N.J./Sparta) and Michael Lenker (Sparta, N.J./Sparta) both placed second with the medley relay. Jouravlev also placed third in the backstroke.
First-year Sam Eaton (Port Matilda, Pa./State College) earned a win with the medley relay and placed second in the breaststroke (2:17.24). Classmate Slade Reisner (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) was second with the medley relay and in the butterfly (2:07.47).
The Red Devils improve to 8-4 overall and 3-3 in the Centennial Conference. They return to action in two weeks at the Centennial Conference Championships.
