(Westminster, Md.) – The Dickinson men's swim team returned to action with a 59-36 win at McDaniel College on Saturday.
Sophomore Alex Bennett (Baltimore, Md./Loyola Blakefield) was a triple-winner for the Red Devils, capturing the 100 and 200 yard freestyle events, and anchoring the winning 200 free relay.
Sam Eaton (Port Matilda, Pa./State College) had a strong showing as well, earning wins in the 100 breaststroke and with the 200 medley relay. He placed third, just behind Alan Karickhoff (Willoughby, Ohio/Hawken School) in the 50 freestyle. Karickhoff added wins as the anchor leg of the medley, and lead leg of the 200 free relay.
First-years Jake Beley (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) and Allen Belo (Odenton, Md./Severn School) both swam with the winning medley relay and went 2-3 in the 100 butterfly, respectively. Beley added another second place finish in the 100 backstroke as well.
Sophomore Travis Lipscomb (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Heights) added a win with the free relay and placed third in the 200 individual medley and the 500 freestyle. Classmate Brian Reid (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) placed third in both the 100 and 200 freestyle, and swam the third leg of the free relay.
First-year Mitchell Reynolds (Frederick, Md./Frederick) touched the wall second in the both the 500 and 1000 yard freestyle events. First-year Nick Beard (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) finished second in the individual medley and claimed third in the 100 breaststroke. Sophomore Sasha Jouravlev (Sparta, N.J./Sparta) gave the Devils another win, finishing 1-2 with Beley in the 100 backstroke.
The Red Devils improve to 5-3 on the season and 1-1 in the Centennial Conference. They return home to face Washington College, next Saturday at 2:00 pm.
