(Westminster, Md.) – The Dickinson women's swim team improved to 7-2 overall and 2-1 in the Centennial Conference, posting a 57-38 win at McDaniel College on Saturday.
Junior Caitlin Klockner (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough Regional) returned from studying abroad, and earned a triple-win on the day. She touched the wall first in both the 100 and 200 yard freestyle events, and joined the winning 200 yard free relay.
The Devils went 1-2 in the 200 freestyle as Tanita Leary (Larchmont, N.Y./Mamaroneck) claimed second. She added a second in 100 butterfly and swam the anchor leg of the winning free relay.
First-years Callie Miles (Hartford, Conn./Kingswood Oxford) and Devon Korhammer (Easton, Pa./Moravian Academy) went 1-2 in the 100 backstroke and placed second with the 200 medley relay. Korhammer added a win as well, swimming the third leg of the free relay.
Sophomore Lindsay Morton (Orange, Conn./Weston) touched the wall in front of Leary to capture the butterfly and give Dickinson a 1-2 showing in that event as well. Morton claimed third in the 1000 yard freestyle, finishing just behind first-year Kayleigh Wright (Hanover, Mass./South Shore Charter). Wright came back to post a win the 500 free.
First-year Elizabeth Smith (Sparta, N.J./Sparta) was part of the medley relay, adding a win in the 200 individual medley and a bronze in the 100 breaststroke.
Sophomore Emily Houser (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) tallied a win with the free relay, placing second in the 50 freestyle and third in the 100. Classmate Jacqulyn Teller (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) anchored the medley relay for second and came in third in the individual medley.
The Red Devils return home to host Washington College next Saturday. The start time is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
