(Collegeville, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's swim team opened the 2015-16 season with a Centennial Conference win at Ursinus College on Saturday afternoon. The Red Devils swam past the Bears, 123-81.

First-year Kiernan Jordan (Dumfries, Va./Forest Park) had a great start to his collegiate career, setting a pool record with a win in the 200 butterfly, clocking a time of 1:58.67. He added another win, swimming the third leg of the 400 medley relay.

First-year Ben Shapiro (Wynnewood, Pa./Friends' Central) had a strong start as well, winning three events on the day. He swam the lead leg of the 400 medley relay, joined the 400 free relay for a win and claimed the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:58.98.

Classmate Kevin Potocki (Fayetteville, N.Y./Jamesville Dewitt) swam the anchor leg of the free relay and captured individual wins in the 50 and 100 freestyle events, clocking times of 23.38 and 48.54.

Junior Alex Bennett (Baltimore, Md./Loyola Blakefield) swam the lead leg of the free relay and posted a win in the 200 freestyle (1:47.90). He placed second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:00 .38. Classmate Travis Lipscomb (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Heights) anchored the medley relay and won the 100 individual medley, clocking a time of 55.50.

Sophomore Mitch Reynolds (Frederick, Md./Frederick) placed second in the 1000 free (10:27.28) and claimed third in the 500 with a time of 5:02.38.

Junior Sam Eaton (Port Matilda, Pa./State College) added a win in the 200 breaststroke, touching the wall in 2:14.93, and with the 400 medley relay.

The Red Devils start the season 1-0. They travel to Bloomsburg University next Friday night.
