(Grantham, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's swim team had another strong outing, capturing first in 10-of-11 events on the night to roll past Messiah College, 139-66.
Junior freestyler Alex Bennett (Baltimore, Md./Loyola Blakefield) recorded three wins, claiming the 100 and 200 individual events, and swimming the lead leg of the 200 free relay. The free relay broke the Messiah pool record with a mark of 1:29.60.
Senior Alan Karickhoff (Willoughby, Ohio/Hawken School) swam the second leg, adding a second place finish in the 50 free, and touching the wall third in the 100 free. Junior Travis Lipscomb (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Height) handled the third leg of the free relay, adding a win as the anchor of medley relay and finishing second in the 100 butterfly.
Sophomore Allen Belo (Odentown, Md./Severn School) anchored the free relay and placed second it the 100 freestyle.
First-year Ben Shapiro (Wynnewood, Pa./Friends Central) was a triple-winner on the night as well. He touched the wall first in the 200 individual medley and the 100 backstroke, and swimming the lead leg of the medley relay.
Sophomore Mitch Reynolds (Frederick, Md./Frederick) dominated the distance events, winning the 1000 and 500 yard freestyle events. Junior Sam Eaton (Port Matilda, Pa./State College)won the 100 breaststroke and joined the medley relay for another gold.
Michael Lenker (Sparta, N.J./Sparta) and Nick Beard (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) gave the Devils a 1-2-3 finish in the breaststroke. First-year Kiernan Jordan (Dumfries, Va./Forest Park) was a double-winner, joining the medley relay and clocking the top time in the 100 butterfly.
The Red Devils improve to 3-1 on the season. They travel to the Gettysburg Invitational this weekend with competition on Friday and Saturday.
