(Grantham, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's swim team put up a challenge at Messiah on Tuesday night, but suffered a 122-83 setback to the host Falcons.
First-year Olivia Lyman (Mount Kisco, N.Y./Horace Greeley) turned in another strong performance, winning the 1000 and 500 yard freestyle events and capturing the 200 individual medley. Sophomore Brenna Nimkoff (Weston, Conn./Weston) came in second in both the 1000 and 500, and placed fourth in the 200 free.
Classmate Katie Schmidt (Orono, Minn./Breck School) placed second with the 200 medley relay and in the 200 backstroke. She anchored the 200 free relay for a third place finish.
Sammy Boswell (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) anchored the medley relay and placed second in the 50 freestyle. She was third in the 100 freestyle. Amanda Custer (Albuquerque, N.M./Sandia Prep) and Jacqulyn Teller (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) rounded out the medley relay. Custer was second in the 100 butterfly while Teller claimed silver in the 100 breaststroke.
Senior Caitlin Klockner (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough Regional) touched the wall second in the 100 and 200 freestyle events.
Sophomore Devon Korhammer (Easton, Pa./Moravian Academy) chipped in with third place showings in the 100 backstroke and as the lead leg of the 200 free relay. Katie Nirenberg (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) and Shannon Bonner (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) swam the middle legs of the free relay.
The Red Devils slip to 3-3 on the season. They are in competition again this weekend, traveling to the Gettysburg Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
