(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's basketball team celebrated senior day with a huge win over Bryn Mawr College, rolling past the Owls, 71-9, at the Kline Center.
The Red Devils scored the first 22 points of the game and never looked back, opening a 39-4 advantage at halftime. Seniors Ashley Kinney (Somers, Conn./Somers) and Liz Schultz (Dunmore, Pa./Scranton Prep) each scored twice as the Devils jumped out to a 12-0 lead at the 14:35 mark.
Senior Sarah Phillips (West Amwell, N.J./South Hunterdon) knocked down a three-pointer and sophomore Helen Roberts (Oakton, Va./Oakton) buried back-to-back triples to put the Devils up, 28-2, with 8:52 remaining in the half.
Sophomore Mackenzie Skerritt (Hightstown, N.J./The Peddie School) scored back-to-back field-goals to close out the half with Dickinson on top, 39-4.
The second half would prove to be much of the same. Bryn Mawr scored at with 14:21 to play and did not find the net until the 3:43 mark.
Back-to-back three-pointers from Ashleigh Williams (Lewistown, Pa./Mifflin Country) and Jennifer Smith (Short Hills, N.J./Millburn) put Dickinson up, 55-5, with 10:06 remaining in the game.
Kinney led the Red Devils with 12 points and six rebounds, handing out five assists as well. Phillips tallied nine points, five rebounds and a game-high six assists. Roberts reached double-figures with 11 points behind a trio of three-pointers.
Schultz tallied eight points and six assists while Skerritt finished the day with six points and five assists.
The Red Devils held Bryn Mawr (1-17) to just four field-goals and eight percent shooting on the day, as they improve to 6-17 overall. Dickinson travels to Eastern Mennonite University on Thursday night for a 7:00 pm tip-off before closing out the regular season at Franklin & Marshall on Saturday.
