(Bryn Mawr, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's swim team started a two-day road-trip with a 115-73, Centennial Conference win at Bryn Mawr College on Friday night. The Red Devils had strong swims in every event and went one-two-three in the 200 and 50 freestyle events, and the 200 individual medley.
Sophomore Olivia Lyman (Mount Kisco, N.Y./Horace Greeley) won the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:00.81, with senior Emily Houser (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) and sophomore Katie Schmidt (Orono, Minn./Breck School) touching the wall second and third with times of 2:03.09 and 2:05.06, respectively.
Houser anchored the winning 400 medley relay (1:55.58) and placed second in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:17.56. First-year Madeline Callahan (Westtown, N.Y./Minisink Valley) swam the lead leg of the medley relay, adding a win in the 100 freestyle (57.05) and a silver in the 200 individual medley (2:22.33).
Senior Jacqulyn Teller (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) won the 200 individual medley (2:18.70) and swam the second leg of the 200 medley relay. She was second in the 100 freestyle as well, clocking a time of 57.82. First-year Zimmy Tran (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) was third in the 100 free, coming in at 1:03.43.
First-year Molly Sternick (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) was a triple-winner on the night, claiming the 50 freestyle (26.24) and the 200 butterfly (2:15.83), and joining the medley relay. Classmates Samantha Florio (Stamford, Conn./Wilton) and Lauren Woznicki (Media, Pa./Penncrest) were second and third in the 50 free, posting times of 27.15 and 27.49 while Jenn Doorly (Raritan, N.J./Bridgewater Raritan) swam to second in the butterfly with a mark of 2:30.45.
First-year Demetria Ruhl (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends) won the 1000 freestyle in 11:29.13 with senior Genna Kranis (Bellmore, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) finishing third with a time of 11:57.99. Kranis was second in the 500 free, touching the wall in 5:52.28.
Sophomore Amanda Meinschein (Mount Airy, Md./St. Maria Goretti) added a third place finish in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:54.05 and first-year Lindsay Robinson (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) was third in the individual medley, clocking a time of 2:25.01.
The Red Devils improve to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the Centennial Conference. They return to action tomorrow, joining the men for a 1:00 pm start at the University of Scranton.
