(Carlisle, Pa.) – The #26-ranked Dickinson men's squash team suffered a 9-0 setback to #10-ranked Franklin & Marshall on Friday night at the Kline Center courts.
First-year Abdelrahman Elsergany (Cairo, Egypt/Kent School, Conn.) battled to a fifth set with Cole Osborne in the top flight, but couldn't rally in the final two games, falling (11-7, 11-8, 3-11, 8-11, 6-11).
Andrew Strudwick (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest Academy) and Harrison Mayo (Penn Valley, Pa./Harritan) had strong starts in the fifth and sixth flights with Mayo claiming his opener, 11-9. Samm Fulton countered to take a 3-1 decision. Preston Miller (New York, N.Y./Westminster School) had a strong third set, but couldn't get past Ricardo Machado in the seven spot.
The 10th-ranked Diplomats improve to 6-7 on the season. The Red Devils slip to 10-7 on the year. They are home again tomorrow, hosting the Dickinson Winter Round Robin. The opening matches are scheduled for 9:30 am.
