Box Score (Bryn Mawr, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's basketball team rebounded from a two game slide with a decisive, 66-43 win at Bryn Mawr College on Tuesday night. The Red Devils improve to 9-3 overall and hold on to first place in the Centennial Conference with a 6-1 mark.
The Owls kept pace with the Red Devils, hitting a trio of three-pointers to trail, 12-9, with just under two minutes to play in the first quarter. Dickinson closed out the period with a 7-0 run, capped by a three-pointer from senior guard Helen Roberts (Oakton, Va./Oakton) to lead, 19-9, at the end of the first.
Junior Mackenzie Skerritt (Hightstown, N.J./The Peddie School) hit a three-pointer to start the second and Roberts scored eight straight to put Dickinson in front, 32-11.
The Red Devils held the hosts to just a field-goal in the second, leading 35-11, at halftime. The Owls scored back-to-back field-goals to open the second half before Roberts knocked down a pair of three-pointers and first-year Lauren McBride (Trenton, N.J./Gill St. Bernard's) added another to stretch the lead to 44-15, at the midpoint of the quarter.
Halena Martin converted four free throws and Erica Dwyer hit a three-pointer to close out the third, cutting the deficit to 47-26.
Skerritt scored the first five points for Dickinson in the fourth and first-year Emily Padalino (West Sand Lake, N.Y./Albany Academy) had a seven-point run to lead the way in the final quarter.
Dwyer led the Owls with 18 points while Martin finished with 14 as Bryn Mawr slips to 1-11 overall and 0-9 in the Centennial Conference.
Roberts scored a game-high 20 points behind five three-pointers to go with seven rebounds and a pair of assists. Skerritt tallied eight points and a pair of blocked shots while McBride and Padalino each finished with seven.
Mairead Donahue (Trumbull, Conn./St. Joseph) and Kassidy Lesher (Shoemakersville, Pa./Hamburg) controlled the boards with 10 and nine rebounds, respectively.
Mary Martin (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale) added six rebounds, five assists and four steals while Hannah Heiring (Wayzata, Minn./Wayzata) chipped in with five points and four rebounds.
The Red Devils return home to face Ursinus College at 6:00 pm on Thursday night in the Kline Center.
