(Westminster, Md.) – The Dickinson women's swim team produced a number of strong performances on Saturday, returning to Centennial Conference action with a 64-31 win at McDaniel College.
Sophomore Olivia Lyman (Mount Kisco, N.Y./Horace Greeley) had another solid outing, posting three wins on the afternoon. She captured both the 1,000 and 500-yard freestyle events with times of 10:57.27 and 5:27.22, respectively. She touched the wall first in the 200 freestyle as well with a time of 2:00.30.
Junior Brenna Nimkoff (Weston, Conn./Weston) placed second in both the 1,000 and 500 free events, posting marks of 11:15.83 and 5:33.91.
Sophomore Katie Schmidt (Orono, Minn./Breck School) was a double-winner, claiming the 100 backstroke (1:01.69) and joining the winning 200 free relay. She added a second place showing with the 200 medley relay as they combined for a time of 1:58.46.
First-year Madeline Callahan (Westtown, N.Y./Minisink Valley) was second in the 100 backstroke (1:03.47) and the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:19.73. She was second in the 200 free relay as the Red Devils captured the top two places in the final event with times of 1:45.28 and 1:49.05.
Senior Jacqulyn Teller (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) earned the win in the 200 individual medley with a mark of 2:18.94 and placed second with the medley relay. Demetria Ruhl (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends) led-off the winning free relay and swam to second with the medley relay and in the 100 butterfly, clocking a time of 1:01.78.
First-year Molly Sternick (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) clocked a time of 59.69 to win the 100 butterfly. She anchored the second place free relay and added a bronze in the 50-yard freestyle (26.06).
Tanita Leary (Larchmont, N.Y./Mamaroneck) and Shannon Bonner (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) swam the third and anchor legs of the winning free relay while Bonner added a silver in the medley relay.
Sophomore Sammy Boswell (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) turned in three second-place finishes in the 50 (25.67) and 100-yard freestyle (56.90), and the 200 free relay.
Senior Emily Houser (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) joined the second place free relay and was third in the 100 freestyle (57.40). First-year Lindsay Robinson (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.93).
The Red Devils improve to 6-2 overall and 2-1 in the Centennial Conference. They return home to host Washington College next Saturday at 1:00 pm.
