(Collegeville, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's swim team suffered a 120-82 setback at Ursinus College to open the 2017-18 season.
Sophomore Will Freeman (Haddonfield, N.J./Pennington School) posted wins in the 200 individual medley (2:01.12) and the 200 breaststroke (2:16.97), adding a second-place finish with the 400 medley relay.
Senior Nick Beard (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) touched the wall second in the 200 breaststroke, clocking a time of 2:18.94, followed by first-year Ryan Lucas (Vienna, Va./James Madison) in third (2:24.19).
Sophomore Graham Novitch (Scarsdale, N.Y./Scarsdale) led-off the medley relay and placed second in both the 200 freestyle (1:48.67) and the 200 backstroke (2:03.66).
Senior Mitch Reynolds (Frederick, Md./Frederick) placed second in the 1000 freestyle (10:23.52), third in the 500 free (5:02.83) and closed out the day with a win with the 400 free relay.
First-year Colin Shea (Merion Station, Pa./Lower Merion) anchored the medley relay, placed third in the 100 freestyle (50.60) and fourth in the 50 free with a time of 23.48. First-year Tyler Catania (Spotswood, Pa./St. Joseph) led-off the free relay and joined the medley while senior Jake Beley (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) swam the anchor leg of the free relay.
First-year Liam Pauli (Delran, N.J./Delran) earned a win with the free relay and classmate Jeff Gabriel (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-Dewitt/CBA) claimed bronze in the 50 freestyle (23.11).
The Red Devils travel to Lebanon Valley College next Sunday to join Wilkes University for a tri-meet at 2:00 pm.
