(Grantham, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's swim team came up just short at Messiah College on Wednesday night, falling 106-99.
Senior Mitch Reynolds (Frederick, Md./Frederick) had a solid night, placing second in both the 1000 and 500-yard freestyle events, posting times of 10:23.92 and 5:05.86. He added another second as well, joining the 200 free relay. Sophomore James Cummings (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) was third in the 1000 (10:52.37) and fourth in the 500 (5:19.69).
First-year Tommy Dunn (Pottstown, Pa./The Hill School) was third in the 500 (5:18.40) and fourth in the 1000 freestyle (10:59.82).
Sophomore Graham Novitch (Scarsdale, N.Y./Scarsdale) anchored the winning 200 free relay, adding second-place showings in the 200 freestyle (1:51.29) and 100 backstroke (56.86).
First-year Tyler Catania (Spotswood, N.J./St. Joseph) was third in the 200 free (1:52.97) and second in the 100 butterfly, clocking a time of 56.56. He joined the 200 free relay, along with first-year Colin Shea (Merion Station, Pa./Lower Merion), who touched second in the 100 free (50.63) and fourth in the 50 (23.07).
Will Freeman (Haddonfield, N.J./Pennington School) and Nick Beard (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) went one-two in the 200 individual medley with times of 1:59.20 and 2:05.40, and then reversed places with Beard winning the 100 breaststroke (1:01.45), just ahead of Freeman with a mark of 1:02.09. Freeman also anchored the 200 medley relay to a third-place finish.
Senior Allen Belo (Odenton, Md./Severn School) swam the second leg of the winning free relay and was third in the 50 (22.84) and 100 freestyle (50.89).
The Red Devils slip to 3-3 overall. They travel to the Gettysburg Invitational this weekend, competing on both Friday night and Saturday.
