Men's Squash Posts Two Big Wins on Saturday

(Middletown, Conn.) - The #19-ranked Dickinson men's squash team posted back-to-back 8-1 wins on Saturday, turning back Hobart College and Colby, playing at Wesleyan University.

Sophomore Sergio Martin (Querétaro, Mexico / Redwood, Calif.) battled through an epic five-set marathon to win the second flight (4-11, 11-3, 17-15, 6-11, 12-10). 

The Red Devils claimed the other seven matches in straight sets. 

Cory Litman (Lower Merion, Pa./Lower Merion) sandwiched a pair of dominant sets around a challenge in the second for a win in the sixth flight (11-1, 12-10, 11-3) and senior Andrew Strudwick (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest Academy) allowed just three points in the ninth (11-2, 11-1, 11-0). 

The Red Devils jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the Colby match. Sophomore Osuman Imouro (New Haven, Conn./Trinity Pawling) won the eighth flight (11-3, 11-5, 11-3) while Litman and Strudwick added their second straight set wins of the day. 

Junior Abdelrahman Elsergany (Cairo, Egypt/Kent School, Conn.) and sophomore Tanay Murdia (New Fatehpura Udaipur, India/Delhi Public School) added points and Alex Wattles (Millbrook, N.Y./Millbrook) survived (11-9, 9-11, 11-7, 9-11, 12-10) in the Colby match.

The Red Devils move to 2-4 on the season. They are right back in action tomorrow, facing Wesleyan University at 9:00 am.
