(Providence, R.I.) – The #19-ranked Dickinson men's squash team returned to action on Monday, dropping a heartbreaker to #24-Tufts University, 5-4. The Red Devils had a tough outing against #15-Brown University, falling to the hosts, 7-0.
In the openerAbdelrahman Elsergany (Cairo, Egypt/Kent School, Conn.) claimed the top spot in straight sets while Alex Wattles (Millbrook, N.Y./Millbrook) earned the point with a 3-1 decision in the second flight (11-3, 11-9, 6-11, 11-4).
Osuman Imouro (New Haven, Conn./Trinity Pawling) survived a 3-2 marathon in the fifth flight (11-7, 11-4, 6-11, 11-13, 11-7) while Tanay Murdia (New Fatehpura Udaipur, India / Delhi Public School) rolled to a 3-0 win in the sixth.
Andrew Strudwick (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest Academy) went five sets in the seventh flight before suffering a 3-2 setback.
Brown swept the Red Devils in the nightcap. Wattles moved into the top spot and put up a challenge in a 3-2 setback (11-7, 11-8, 8-11, 10-12, 11-6). Imouro went four sets in the fourth flight.
The Red Devils slip to 3-7 on the season. They face #26-Amherst College on Tuesday at 12:00 pm.
