Seniors Show Well in Friday Night Setback to #18 Panthers

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The #25-ranked Dickinson men's squash team suffered a 7-2 setback to visiting #18-Middlebury College on Friday night as the Red Devils recognized their graduating seniors.

Senior Hal Holappa (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) turned in a strong performance at number three, dropping a four-set match (11-8,16-14,6-11,11-9) while Cory Litman (Lower Merion, Pa./Lower Merion) went four sets and Andrew Strudwick (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) had a strong start but fell (13-11, 11-4, 11-9).

Junior Abdelrahman Elsergany (Cairo, Egypt/Kent School, Conn.) claimed the top flight in straight sets while sophomore Tanay Murdia (New Fatehpura Udaipur, India/Delhi Public) held off a strong challenge to win the sixth flight in straight sets (11-4, 13-11, 13-11).

Sophomore Osuman Imouro (New Haven, Conn./Trinity Pawling) battled but came up short in a five-set match at number four (11-7, 11-9, 4-11, 10-12, 11-8).

Middlebury improves to 10-2 on the season while the Red Devils slip to 3-8 overall. Dickinson travels to the University of Virginia next weekend for the Mid-Atlantic Championships on February 2nd and 3rd.
