(New Haven, Conn.) – The #25-ranked Dickinson men's squash team advanced in the Conroy Cup Division Winners' Bracket with a decisive 9-0 victory over Connecticut College on Saturday night.
The Red Devils jumped out to another strong start, winning the first four matches in straight sets. Graham Henderson (Greenwich, Conn./The King School) and Zachary Hollander (Albany, N.Y./Millbrook) started things off, going (11-4, 11-5, 11-3) and (11-2, 11-3, 11-6).
Tanay Murdia (New Fatehpura Udaipur, India / Delhi Public School) claimed the sixth flight with an (11-7, 11-9, 11-4) victory and Alex Wattles (Millbrook, N.Y./Millbrook) posted a win at number two (11-7, 11-7, 11-3).
Andrew Strudwick (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest Academy) clinched the match with the fifth point, turning in a dominant performance in the seven-spot, (11-2, 11-3, 11-1). He finished just before sophomore Osuman Imouro (New Haven, Conn./Trinity Pawling) closed out the fifth (11-4, 13-11, 11-8).
Junior Abdelrahman Elsergany (Cairo, Egypt/Kent School, Conn.) worked quickly in the top flight with a strong finish (11-2, 11-5, 11-3).
Senior Hal Holappa (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) had a quick start in an (11-1, 11-9, 11-4) win at three while Cory Litman (Lower Merion, Pa./Lower Merion) had a strong finish to close out the match (11-4, 7-11, 11-2, 11-4).
The Red Devils improve to 6-12 and advance to Sunday's final at 2:45 pm.
