#14 Swarthmore Tops Red Devils in Dual Finale

(Swarthmore, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's swim team had a tough test on Saturday as they fell to Centennial Conference front-runner and #14-ranked Swarthmore, 162-95 in the dual-meet finale.

Junior Will Freeman (Haddonfield, N.J./Pennington School) had a solid afternoon. He won the 200-breaststroke with a mark of 2:11.17 and claimed the 100-yard individual medley in 55.21. He added a silver in the 200-breaststroke and joined the 200-medley relay for a third-place finish.

Senior Ben Shapiro (Wynnewood, Pa./Friends' Central) was right behind Freeman in the IM, touching the wall in 55.27. He anchored the medley relay and finished third in the 100-freestyle and fourth in the 200-free.

Classmate Kiernan Jordan (Dumfries, Va./Forest Park) touched the wall first in the 200-butterfly (1:58.26) and anchored the winning 200-free relay to a mark of 3:24.75. He was third in the 100-butterfly and well and swam the third leg of the medley relay.

Graham Novitch (Scarsdale, N.Y./Scarsdale) and Liam Pauli (Delran, N.J./Delran) went two-three in the 200-yard backstroke with times of 2:03.05 and 2:04.53, respectively. Novitch joined the medley and free relays and had a fourth-place showing in the 100-backstroke.

First-year Logan Cort (Brookeville, Md./Mercersburg) was third in the 1000-yard freestyle and fourth in the 500. Sophomore Tommy Dunn (Pottstown, Pa./The Hill School) finished fourth in the 1000.

Sophomore Tyler Catania (Spotswood, N.J./St. Joseph) claimed silver in the 200-butterfly and swam the third leg of the free relay. Damon St. Prix (Barbados/Peddie School, N.J.) led-off the free relay.

The Red Devils move to 7-5 overall and 2-4 in the conference. They will next compete at the Centennial Conference Championships on February 21-24 at Franklin & Marshall.
