(Waterville, Maine) – The #20-ranked Dickinson women's squash team posted a 7-2 win over #24-ranked Colby College on Thursday afternoon while the men suffered a 7-2 setback.
The hosts took the top two flights in the women's match, but the Red Devils won the rest, posting 3-0 wins in the next seven flights.
First-year Doxey Loupassi (Richmond, Va./St. Catherine's) led the way with a strong showing in the sixth flight, posting an (11-2, 11-2, 11-2) victory in the number six flight.
Aya Sobhy (Stroudsburg, Pa./Blair Academy) closed out a 3-0 sweep with a strong finish in the fourth flight (11-5, 11-8, 11-0).
The #26-ranked men's squash team fell to 23-ranked Colby. Alex Wattles (Millbrook, N.Y./Millbrook) outlasted Dylan Kim Tymiw in a five-set marathon (9-11, 10-12, 12-10, 11-6, 5-11) while first-year Kobe Fleming (Whitby, New Zealand) earned a point in the in the number five spot (13-1, 11-7, 9-11, 4-11, 11-6).
The Red Devil women improve to 4-5 on the season while the men move to 3-8 on the year. Both teams return home to host Tufts University on Saturday morning at 10:00 am.
