(Washington, D.C.) – The #24-ranked Dickinson men's squash team suffered a 9-0 setback to the 18th-ranked U.S. Naval Academy at the Mid-Atlantic States Championships on Saturday. The #23-ranked Red Devil women fell to the #10-ranked University of Virginia, 7-0.
Osuman Imoro (New Haven, Conn./Trinity Pawling) battled in his match at number five, falling 3-2 (11-6, 2-11, 9-11, 13-11, 11-2).
Abdelrahman Elsergany (Cairo, Egypt/Kent School, Conn.) turned in a strong match in the top-flight, falling (11-6, 9-11, 11-8, 11-7).
Tanay Murdia (Fatehpura Udaipur, India/Delhi Public School) took a set in the third flight (11-4, 8-11, 11-4, 11-9) while Kobe Fleming (Whitby, New Zealand) went (11-4, 8-11, 11-4, 11-9) in the fourth.
Hussien Eldesouky (Cairo, Egypt/Berkshire School, Mass.) dropped a (11-6, 8-11, 11-3, 11-4) decision in the seventh spot.
Eloise Nimoityn (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Episcopal Academy) turned in a strong match, playing in the top-flight for the women while senior Jaime Leigh-Edghill (Diego Martin, Trinidad & Tobago/Holy Name) put up a challenge in the fourth flight.
The Red Devil men fall to 5-12 overall while the women move to 5-10. The women are set to face George Washington University on Sunday at 1:00 pm.
