CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's swimming team got two wins each from
Caroline Christianson,
Tori May,
Isabel McGovern, and
Caroline Wasielevski to help the Red and White edge the visiting Susquehanna University in non-conference action by a score of 150-108 at the Clarke Aquatic Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Devils began the day with a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay as the team of
Bella Gerkin,
Sarah McHenry, McGovern, and Wasielevski clocked in at 1:55.74, while
Margot Armstrong,
Sydney Farling, Isobell O'Connell, and
Norah Wilson grabbing third with a 1:59.30.
May picked up her first win of the meet in the 1000-yard freestyle by stopping the clock in 11:03.19, followed by her fellow first-year
Emma Johnston (11:12.52). Another first-year
Annelyse Warner landed in fourth (12:24.19).
Christianson was the next member of the Red and White to grab a win as she claimed the top slot for the 200-yard freestyle with a mark of 2:02.47.
Carrington Bowles posted a 2:12.63 for fifth.
Dickinson occupied third through fifth in the 100-yard backstroke thanks to the trio of McHenry (1:03.86), O'Connell (1:07.44), and
Julia Ciesielka (1:09.53).
A pair of first-years gave a good showing during the 100-yard breaststroke as Gerkin and Farling landed in third (1:14.55) and fourth (1:15.22) respectively.
The podium was filled with Devils after the 200-yard butterfly with McGovern winning the event in 2:11.92, followed by
Sarah Mulcahy (2:21.08) and Armstrong (2:22.93).
Wasielevski won her races during the next two events claiming victory in both the 50-yard freestyle (25.68) and 100-yard freestyle (56.37). In both of those races Wilson landed in second with marks of 26.40 and 57.60.
Christianson got her second win in the 200-yard backstroke by stopping the clock in 2:16.39 to beat teammate McHenry by five seconds (2:21.96).
Mulcahy was the lone Devil inside the Top-3 for the 200-yard breaststroke posting a time of 2:39.90, while Gerkin and
Cate Lord held down fourth (2:48.00) and sixth (2:57.27) respectively.
The Red and White went one-two for the 500-yard freestyle with May winning the event in 5:27.02, followed by Christianson at 5:32.56.
A pair of Dickinson athletes sandwiched a River Hawk during the 100-yard butterfly as McGovern won the race by hitting the wall in 58.23, while Armstrong claimed third at 1:04.87.
Johnston added her name to the winning Devils on the day by topping the field in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:16.34. May and Mulcahy clocked in at 2:21.61 and 2:25.10 to take third and fourth.
