LANCASTER, Pa. - The Dickinson men's swimming team kicked off their 2023-24 campaign on Saturday afternoon by taking part in the Centennial East Quad Meet hosted by Franklin & Marshall College. The Red and White unfortunately suffered defeat in all three matchups falling to Washington College (147-113), Ursinus College (171-87) and Franklin & Marshall (200-60).
In the 200-yard medley relay the Devils secured an eighth-place result as the crew of Alex Kanard,
Andrew Kelley,
Daniel Vasquez and
James Wright posted a time of 1:43.29.
Aidan Keillor and Ben Brandt each competed in the 1000-yard freestyle and clocked in at 10:42.54 (4th) and 10:51.89 (5th) respectively.
Wright recorded the first Top-3 finish for the Devils during the 200-yard freestyle by getting to the wall in 1:48.44 for third, while Kanard also landed within the Top-10 with a 1:53.08 (9th).
Frederico Colloca-Bianchi picked up a fifth-place result in the 100-yard backstroke thanks to a 55.56, followed two spots later by Vasquez and his 58.29.
The pair of
Henry Lease and
Aaron Stern gave a good go during the 100-yard breaststroke touching the wall in 1:04.20 (9th) and 1:07.12 (11th).
Kelley rounded out the Top-5 for the 200-yard butterfly with a 2:07.27, while
Paul Florio finished in 2:12.91 for tenth.
Three members of the Red and White were involved in the 13-competitor field for the 50-yard freestyle with
Daulton Kendall stopping the timer in 22.08 for fifth.
Nolan Chenot and
Jack Engel were right on top of each other all race finishing 22.92 (10th) and 23.24 (11th).
Kendall secured another fifth-place result for the Red and White during the 100-yard freestyle with a 48.99. He was followed outside the Top-10 by Stern (11th - 52.07) and Engel (13th - 52.88).
Dickinson had four athletes land inside the Top-10 of the 200-yard backstroke as Colloca-Bianchi claimed second thanks to a 2:01.03, beating out teammates Vasquez (4th - 2:03.57), Brandt (7th - 2:09.37) and Florio (8th - 2:10.52).
Just two Devils did battle in the 200-yard breaststroke with Lease holding down seventh (2:21.88) and Keillor grabbing 12th (2:25.61).
Kanard completed the Top-5 for the 500-yard freestyle after touching the wall in 5:04.94, while
Ben Lilly grabbed eighth thanks to a 5:19.72.
Chenot was just off a Top-5 pace during the 100-yard butterfly taking sixth (54.98), with Kelley turning in a ninth-place performance with a 56.36.
The final individual event of the day was the 200-yard individual medley and that was where Vasquez posted a 2:07.11 for fifth. Florio had a strong event as well clocking in at 2:11.64 for eighth.
The quartet of Chenot, Kendall, Kelley and Wright seized fifth for the 400-yard freestyle relay with a 3:18.79, while in ninth came the group of Engel, Kanard, Lease and Stern (3:26.70).

The Red and White (0-3, 0-3 Centennial) will take a week off before returning to action on Saturday, November 4th when they visit the University of Scranton for a 12pm start.
