ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Dickinson men's squash team went in search of their second straight win on Wednesday night when they ventured down to the Naval Yard for a matchup against the United States Naval Academy. Unfortunately, for the Red and White, the Midshipmen picked up wins at numbers four through eight en route to a 6-3 win at the Prager Family Squash Facility.
Inside the Match
Dickinson secured their only shutout of the match in the number nine slot where
George Vollmer was too much for Holden Woodward. Then, at spots two and three
Omar Ali and
Mark Naguib surrendered one game each to Henry Sparkman and Lucas Spiro, before claiming victories in four games. At the top spot,
Joe Smythe went down 1-0 to Matthew Wang, prior to securing game wins of 11-8 and 7-11 for a 2-1 edge. However, Wang picked up a pair of tight wins in games four (12-10) and five (11-9) to rally back for the win. At four,
Kobe Fleming dropped two 11-7 decisions to Matthew Kang before posting a 15-13 victory in third. Unfortunately, Kang edged him out 11-9 in the fourth to take the match.
