SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's swimming team collected five race wins on Friday night, but it would not be enough as the host Susquehanna University River Hawks held on for a slim 106-98 non-conference win at the Garrett Complex Natatorium.
The Devils began the meet with a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay thanks to team of
Bella Gerkin,
Emma Johnston,
Sarah McHenry and Isobell O'Connell clocking in with a 1:58.00, while the unit of
Lillie Deaton Connor,
Sydney Farling,
Sarah Mulcahy and
Carolyn Wolujewicz landed in fourth (2:02.11).
Dickinson went "one-two" for the 1000-yard freestyle as
Anna Gnagey took the title in 11:03.37, followed a spot later by
Molly Whitaker at 11:36.85.
Tori May began her evening with a second-place result for the 200-yard freestyle by getting to the wall at 2:02.30. Two other members of the Red and White competed in the event with Connor posting a 2:07.98 for fifth and
Annelyse Warner landing in sixth (2:22.28).
A trio of Devils took part in the 50-yard freestyle as
Norah Wilson touched the wall in 26.97 for second. Farling fell just outside the Top-3 in fourth with a 27.50, while Wolujewicz posted 28.02 for sixth.
Johnston secured a Top-3 finish during the the 200-yard individual medley by stopping the clock in 2:17.69 for second. McHenry landed in fourth (2:25.79) and Gerkin rounded out the field in sixth (2:33.41).
It was another "one-two" for Dickinson in the 200-yard butterfly with Mulcahy pacing the pack at 2:21.27, followed right behind by Connor (2:21.76).
O'Connell rounded out the Top-3 for the 100-yard freestyle with a 59.15. Two other members of the Devils competed in the race with Wilson taking fourth (1:00.47) and Wolujewicz claiming sixth (1:03.63).
The podium was full of Devils for the 200-yard backstroke as May collected her first win of the night with a 2:11.80, followed by Gnagey (2:15.43) and McHenry (2:18.36).
Dickinson won their second consecutive race thanks to Johnston (5:21.04) holding off Whitaker (5:42.29) during the 500-yard freestyle. Warner also competed in the event posting a 6:16.56.
The trio of Farling (2:38.55), Mulcahy (2:41.85) and Gerkin (2:44.45) occupied slots three through five for the 200-yard breaststroke.
The Devils would seize victory in the final race of the meet with Gnagey, May, O'Connell and Wilson getting to the wall in 3:53.54 for the win.

Dickinson (1-5) will now take some time for the Thanksgiving break, before returning to the pool on Friday, December 1st for the two-day Gettysburg College Invite at Bullets Pool. The action begins at 6pm..
