Devils Hold Off Big Red to Head Into Holiday Break

CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson men's squash team concluded the 2023 portion of their schedule on Friday night by picking up wins in the first five spots en roue to a 6-3 win over the visiting Denison University Big Red at the Kline Squash Center.

Inside the Match
The Red and White secured their first win of the match at the number two spot where Omar Ali jumped out to a 2-0 lead, before rallying back from a large hole in the third game to shutout Tarun Mammen. Kobe Fleming playing at number four put up Devils second cleansheet of the match by knocking off Charlie Fenwick IV. In the third slot, Mark Naguib dropped an 11-8 decision in game one to Ibrahim Bekhiet, but then limited his opponent to just 14 total points over the next three games to claim the victory. Cormac Sullivan (8th) claimed the first two games versus John Jones IV, but then allowed his opponent to grab the third 11-8. Fortunately, though for Dickinson Sullivan dug in for an 11-8 win in the fourth to take the match. Sam Knipp picked up the match clinching victory for the home side by storming back from a 2-0 hole to post three consecutive wins. At the top spot in the ladder Joe Smythe had just enough in the tank to outlast Juan Felipe Hernandez in five. On the other hand, Jack Corkum fought back from a 2-0 deficit to draw even at 2-2 with wins of 11-7 and 11-8. However, Chase Lenfest had just a little more in the tank to collect an 11-7 victory in the deciding game.
