LANCASTER, Pa. - Dickinson women's swimming first-years
Emma Johnston and
Isabel McGovern have been named to the All-Centennial Conference Team for their performance in the conference championship meet last weekend.
McGovern, the native of Lexington, Massachusetts, received First Team honors after winning both the 100-yard and 200-yard butterfly events. On Saturday, McGovern wrote her way into the DC record book when she won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.54 to hold off Gettysburg's Bradley Hawkins and her 56.87. McGovern's time broke the Red Devils record for the event set in 2018 at 58.18. A day later she eclipsed the school mark for the 200-yard butterfly when she was back on the top spot of the podium at 2:05.59 edging out Swarthmore's Annaliese Chen (2:05.62). She also secured fifth in the 200-yard individual medley (2:08.09), while accompanying
Caroline Christianson,
Tori May and Johnston in a school record-breaking performance for the 800-yard freestyle relay thanks to a 7:43.03.
Johnston, the native of Suffolk, Virginia, earned her Honorable Mention nod by claiming third for the 500-yard freestyle by hitting the wall in 5:05.03. She then rounded out the Top-5 during the 400-yard individual medley with a mark of 4:37.59. Johnston clocked in at 2:14.51 in the 200-yard butterfly to grab a Top-10 slot, while landing inside the Top-10 of the 400-yard freestyle and 800-yard freestyle relays.Â
