GRANTHAM, Pa. - For the second straight day the Dickinson men's swimming team squared off with local rival Messiah University and just like Friday it was the Red and White who came out on the right-side of the meet with a 118-66 win over the Falcons at the Fredricksen Natatorium.
The Devils started off the day strong with the team of
Nolan Chenot,
Frederico Colloca-Bianchi,
Alexander Kanard and
Justin Wong winning the 200-yard medley relay by clocking in at 1:41.06, while the other unit of
Aidan Keillor,
Ben Lilly,
Aaron Stern and
Sam Strieb nabbed third in 1:47.62.
Dickinson filled up the Top-3 for the 400-yard individual medley as
Daniel Vasquez won with a 4:31.42, followed by
Paul Florio in second (4:33.02) and
Benjamin Brandt in third (4:41.66).Â
Andrew Kelley made his first appearance of the meet count by claiming second in the 200-yard freestyle thanks to a 1:52.09 edging out Lilly in third at 1:56.52.
A trio of DC athletes were involved during the 50-yard freestyle with
Daulton Kendall pacing the group with a 22.47 to win the event, while Chenot and Henry Least claiming third (23.23) and fourth (23.64) respectively.Â
Kelley collected another win for the Red and White by posting a 55.09 for the 100-yard butterfly.
Jack Engel rounded out the Top-3 by clocking in at 57.72 and Strieb closed out the field in 1:07.20 (7th).Â
Kendall seized second in the 100-yard freestyle after getting to the wall in 49.67. Kanard and Wong swam together for the duration of the race clocking in at 50.28 (4th) and 50.88 (5th).
It was a "one-two" finish for the Devils during the 100-yard backstroke as Colloca-Bianchi won the event with a 57.32, followed just over a second later by Florio at 58.68.
Dickinson took up spots two through five for the 500-yard freestyle thanks to: Vasquez (5:03.61), Keillor (5:05.45), Lilly (5:15.75) and Brandt (5:19.42).
Wong and Lease held down slots one (1:02.53) and three (1:04.32), while Chenot and Stern claimed fourth (1:05.36) as well as fifth (1:09.93).
In the 400-yard freestyle relay the group of Colloca-Bianchi, Kanard, Kendall and Kelley took the win with a 3:22.06, followed in third by Brandt, Engel, Keillor and Vasquez (3:31.92).
