CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's swimming team won eight races en route to claiming their first home dual meet win of the 2023-24 season with a 130-62 non-conference win over the visiting York College of Pennsylvania Spartans inside the Clarke Aquatic Center.
The Red and White began the meet with a win in the 400-yard medley relay as the team of
Anna Gnagey,
Tori May,
Sarah McHenry and
Molly Whitaker clocked in at 4:20.91, while the unit of
Lillie Deaton Connor,
Sarah Mulcahy,
Norah Wilson and
Carolyn Wolujewicz landed in third (4:32.54).
Emma Johnston picked up win number two for the home side during the 1000-yard freestyle by getting to the wall in 11:19.41.
The Devils finished "one-two" in the 200-yard freestyle as Gnagey won the event thanks to a 2:02.41, followed by Isobell O'Connell at 2:10.49.
A trio of DC athletes did battle in the 50-yard freestyle with
Olivia Abbott-Havers claiming second in 26.13 as McHenry and
Sydney Farling collected third (27.17) and fourth (27.66). Â
May nabbed her first individual win of the meet during the 200-yard individual medley by posting a 2:20.65, followed three seconds back by Wilson (2:23.04). Connor and Whitaker rounded out the field with times of 2:25.04 (4th) and 2:31.29 (5th).
Johnston won her second event of the night by besting the field for the 100-yard butterfly by clocking in at 1:03.75, while Mulcahy grabbed second (1:05.52).
Bella Gerkin completed the competing DC athletes with a fouth-place mark of 1:11.33.
Abbott-Havers and McHenry took up two of the Top-3 spots in the 100-yard freestyle with times of 57.89 (1st) and 59.43 (3rd). Connor posted a 1:02.28 for fourth.
The 100-yard backstroke saw Wilson and O'Connell take part in the event clocking in at 1:05.96 (2nd) and 1:09.17 (3rd) respectively.
It was another "one-two" finish for the Red and White during the 500-yard freestyle with May winning the race thanks to a 5:31.22, while Whitaker's time of 5:47.67 was good for second.
Annelyse Warner made her first appearance of the meet with a fourth-place result (6:09.65).
The group of Mulcahy (1:16.06), Farling (1:16.15) and Gerkin (1:16.55) all finished within a second of each other to occupy slots two through four.
Dickinson ended the meet with another win in the 400-yard freestyle relay thanks to the unit of Abbott-Havers, Gnagey, Johnston and O'Connell clocking in at 3:54.86.

Dickinson (2-7) gets back to work on Saturday at 1pm when they head to Swarthmore College for a conference matchup with the Garnet.
