SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's swimming team had a rough afternoon on Saturday afternoon as they dropped a 222-38 dual meet to the Centennial Conference favorite Swarthmore College Garnet inside of Ware Pool.
The first event of the day saw the team of
Olivia Abbott-Havers,
Sydney Farling,
Anna Gnagey and
Tori May post a 1:57.84 in the 200-yard medley relay for fifth, followed right behind by
Bella Gerkin,
Emma Johnston,
Sarah McHenry and
Norah Wilson at 1:58.85.
Molly Whitaker was the lone DC athlete in the 1000-yard freestyle clocking in at 11:47.71 for fifth.
A quartet of Devils did battle during the 200-yard freestyle with May leading the pack in fourth (2:04.07), followed by Abbott-Havers a second later in fifth (2:05.18). Farling and
Annelyse Warner rounded out the field in seventh (2:14.75) and eighth (2:17.24).
Lillie Deaton Connor and
Carolyn Wolujewicz landed in fourth (29.75) and fifth (31.33) during the 50-yard backstroke.Â
Sarah Mulcahy saw her first action of the day in the 50-yard breaststroke getting to the wall in 35.93 for fifth.
The duo of Gnagey and McHenry swam together during the 100-yard butterfly stopping the clock in 1:02.80 (5th) and 1:07.87 (6th) respectively.Â
Wilson fell just outside the Top-3 for the 50-yard freestyle hitting the wall at 27.17 to claim fourth, while Isobell O'Connell was less than a second back in fifth with an even 28 seconds.
Three Devils took to the pool for the 100-yard freestyle: Abbott-Havers (5th - 57.97), Wolujewicz (6th - 1:02.02) and Warner (7th - 1:04.25) taking part in the event.Â
Three different DC athletes were involved in the 100-yard backstroke: Gnagey (5th - 1:03.66), May (6th - 1:03.67) and O'Connell (7th - 1:10.29).Â
Gerkin completed the Top-5 for the 100-yard breaststroke with her 1:15.00, followed two seconds later by Whitaker at 1:17.27 (6th).Â
Johnston found her way inside the Top-5 during the 500-yard freestyle as her time of 5:24.99 claimed fourth, while Connor took up 6th thanks to a 5:48.10.
The trio of Mulcahy (30.03), Gerkin (30.89) and Farling (30.93) held down spots five through seven for the 50-yard butterfly.
Wilson earned another fifth-place finish for the Red and White during the 200-yard individual medley by clocking in at 2:23.92, followed in sixth and seventh by McHenry (2:24.70) and Mulcahy (2:28.69).
The meet concluded with two Dickinson teams doing battle in the 200-yard freestyle relay with the group of Abbott-Havers, Gnagey, Johnston and May earning sixth (1:46.61), while Connor, Gerkin, O'Connell and Whitaker landing in seventh (1:51.70).

Dickinson (2-8, 1-6 Centennial) will welcome Bryn Mawr College to the Clarke Aquatic Center on Saturday afternoon at 1pm for another conference meet.
