Devils Show Depth and Run Streak to Three With Win Over Owls

CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's basketball team got contributions up and down the lineup on Tuesday night en route to picking up a 63-44 Centennial Conference win over the visiting Bryn Mawr College at the Kline Center.

The Devils were the first team to ten on the evening as Caitlin Blackman, Mia Chapman, Lindsey Hollenshead and Victoria Zerbe made it 10-2 with 3:24 gone. After a jumper for Michell Jiang, Abby John Jenna Weinstein and Chapman hit in the lane, while Hollenshead buried a shot from distance to grow the margin to 21-4. Jessica Smith would add two at the foul line to cap the scoring for the period at 21-6.

Clair Marion kicked off the second frame with a triple, which was immediately answered by a three for Jiang. Then, Clare Cronley, Ella Smith, Marion and Zerbe tallied seven of the next dozen points to open it up to 32-14 with three minutes left. The two sides shared the remaining eight points of the half as John and Smith scored for the Devils, while Kris Pasia and Jiang notched buckets to close the first 20 minutes at 36-18 DC.

Dickinson extended the gap in the first five minutes of the third with an 8-0 run with points coming out of the hands of Molly Heron, Chapman, Hollenshead and Marion making it 44-18. Two jumpers for Smith and a tough finish from Hannah Govert trimmed the deficit to 46-24, before an "old-fashioned" three-point play by Marion and driving finish for Cronley moved the lead to 51-27. However, consecutive buckets from Jiang sliced the advantage by four to 51-28 with a quarter to play.

Chapman and Hollenshead accounted for four of the opening six points of the fourth (55-30), before Hannah Binder, Daphne Bracker-Sturm, Pasia and Smith organized an 8-3 push to make it 58-38. Dickinson would get a three from Irene Haramis and two at the line by Cronley to finish off the scoring for the Red and White, while Bracker-Sturm, Govert and Smith tallied for the Owls to set the 63-44 final.
