PHILADELPHIA - The Dickinson men's squash team found success early in the ladder on Sunday afternoon against the Naval Academy on the final day of the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference Tournament winning at the first three spots. However, it would not be enough as the Red and White only collected one additional win over the final six matchups to fall 5-4 inside the Specter Squash Center.
Inside the Match
The wins for the Devils did not come easy as
Joe Smythe and Matthew Wang traded the opening four games, before Smythe toppled Wang 11-4 in the fifth and final game. At number two, Henry Sparkman took a 2-1 edge on
Omar Ali thanks to wins of 11-6 and 11-2, but Ali did not go quietly claiming the next two games 11-7 and 11-4 to take the match.
Kobe Fleming playing in the third slot used victories of 11-4 and 11-6 to force a decisive fifth against Lucas Spiro which the Devil grabbed 11-4. The other DC triumph was earned at the ninth flight where
James Kiracofe had too much in the tank for Holden Woodward winning 3-1.Â
