December 2, 2023 - DEVILS 65, Garnet 45 (Carlisle, Pa. - Kline Center)
The Devils used a well-rounded performance to down Swarthmore as the Red and White netted 42 points in the paint and forced the Garnet into 21 giveaway to secure the comfortable win at home. After falling behind early, Dickinson used buckets from Caitlin Blackman, Mia Chapman, Lindsey Hollenshead, Abby John, Clair Marion and Victoria Zerbe to end the first on a 16-0 run to lead 16-2 through ten minutes. Another big 10-2 run in the second with points by Chapman, Hollenshead, Marion and Zerbe helped the Devils to take a commanding 32-13 advantage to the locker room. A strong push early in the third by Anna Hansson and Vanessa Amsinger cut it to 32-22, but Jenna Weinstein, Blackman and Marion answered with an 8-0 push making it 40-22. After that Dickinson never looked back en route to the 65-46 win.

The second matchup of the year was going quite well for the Red and White to start as baskets by Chapman, Hollenshead, Marion, Weinstein and Zerbe gave the visitors a 20-8 lead after one. The trio of Blackman, Hollenshead and Marion continued to hold the hosts at-bay during the second as Dickinson went into the break with a 32-20 advantage. The Devils would extend the lead to 41-22 at the start of the third prompting a timeout by the Garnet. However, coming out of the brief rest Swarthmore got hot with Dana Bandurick, Carolina Lopez and Carly Murphy aiding a 15-0 rampage to close within in 41-37 going to the fourth. Team Overview
Inside the Devils Den (18-7, 15-5 Centennial)
After dropping their season opener to Elizabethtown College on the road by a 64-56 result the Devils rebounded nicely ripping off wins against 21st-ranked Messiah University (61-45), McDaniel College (51-29), Muhlenberg College (51-44) and Swarthmore College (65-46). Then, after two road setbacks to conference powerhouses Gettysburg and Johns Hopkins, the Red and White went into the holiday with a dominant 58-29 non-conference win over Hood College. Coming off the holiday rest, the Devils ventured to Massachusetts for two games at Smith College. First, they suffered a hard-fought 67-60 loss to nationally-recognized UMass-Dartmouth, before upsetting eighth-ranked Smith on their home floor 66-63 ending the Pioneers 43-game winning streak inside Ainsworth Gymnasium. That victory kickstarted a string of 11-straight wins from January into mid-February when they dropped their first two games inside the Kline to 24th-ranked Gettysburg (64-55) and 11th-ranked Johns Hopkins (67-49). Dickinson ended the year winning two of their final three games to lockup the third seed in the tournament.Â
