Women's Swimming Opens Season Strong at Centennial Conference Quad

Red Devils defeat Diplomats for first time since 2019

LANCASTER, Pa. — The Dickinson College women's swimming team opened the 2025-2026 campaign on a high note at the Centennial Conference Quad against Franklin and Marshall, Ursinus, and Swarthmore. The team defeated Ursinus 168-92 and Franklin and Marshall 162-99, their first win over the Diplomats since February 2019. 

Overall Results  
- Swarthmore went 3-0 on the day, scoring 200 over Dickinson, 201 over Ursinus, 213 over Franklin and Marshall. 
- Franklin & Marshall picked up a win over Ursinus 141-120, but fell to the Red Devils (162-99) and the Garnet (213-48).
- Dickinson picked up their first win in over six years over Franklin and Marshall and defeated Ursinus, but fell to Swarthmore 200-60.
- Ursinus was defeated by all three teams, but had a narrow loss against the Diplomats 141-120.

Dickinson Results Summary

Relays
- 200 Yard Medley Relay — Dickinson A, consisting of Anna Gnagey, Bella Gerkin, Emma Johnston, and Caitlin Gross, placed third with a time of 1:50.98; Dickinson B Tori May, Lydia Mossi, Izzy Klonsky, and Madeline Dold, finished seventh in 1:55.47.
- 200 Yard Freestyle Relay — Dickinson A, Caitlin Gross, Anna Gnagey, Tori May, and Madeline Dold, secured fourth in 1:42.46; Dickinson B, Lydia Mossi, Keely McGhee, Sydney Farling, and Julia Byers, completed in 1:48.30.

Individual Swimming
- 1000 Yard Freestyle — May placed second with a time of 11:09.43; Byers was third, finishing in 11:15.98.
- 100 Yard Backstroke — Gnagey placed third with a time of 59.96; Gross placed ninth in 1:03.98.
- 50 Yard Freestyle — Dold claimed seventh in 25.87; Klonsky finished 10th with a time of 26.98; Farling placed 11th in 27 even.
- 100 Yard Butterfly — Gnagey placed third in 1:00.38; Klonsky finished seventh in 1:03.47; Keely McGhee took 10th in 1:06.56.
- 200 Yard IM — First-year Alina Shipley secured sixth place with a time of 2:18.07; Johnston finished seventh in 2:18.90; First-year Natalie Bezanson placed eighth in 2:19.28.

On Deck
Up next for Dickinson is a home opener matchup against Washington College (Md.) at the Clarke Aquatic Center in Carlisle, PA. Events are scheduled to start at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 1.
